Activities And Sensory Play For Dinosaur Lovers

Updated: Jun 18, 2024

Dinosaurs have always been a classic favorite not to just kids but to adults as well. I mean, how can you not??? They're huge and full of mystery and wonder. If you and your little ones are dino fans, check out these cool activities and sensory play ideas!

Dino Ice painting is a fun way to get your little ones to express their creative side (even on a hot day!) The best part about this activity is that it can be taste friendly for your little ones. You can combine water and food coloring in a cup, add you dinos to a cupcake pan, add your dinos and freeze! Another alternative to using food coloring is paint and water, this is a great idea for the older kids.

With this DIY moon sand, some dino fossil molds from the dollar store and tools for extracting, this is a fun way to get your littles ones talking about the life cycle of a dinosaur. Messy play is always fun!

Our 3-year-old is working on sorting his colors. And a great way to keep him engaged is to use things that he loves like dinosaurs. This was so simple to make with a paper plate, construction paper, and dinosaurs to match.

This fun dinosaur scene was made with crushed Cheerios, a few rocks, blue gems, green fake moss, and a couple of dinosaurs! These sensory bins are so fun putting together because you really can create wonderful fun for your littles with things you already have at home!

Playdoh can be used for endless fun and even with dinosaurs! It's the perfect base for taking a good look at dino tracks. Grab a magnify glass so your little ones can get a closer look!

I scored this bubble wrap for $1 but you also can get it from a lot of packages which makes this activity so cost friendly! Your little ones will get a kick out of hearing the bubble wrap pop as they stomp their dinos!

This fine motor skill dino toy helps build the muscles in your little one's hands so that they can one day write, draw, and tie their shoes! A great find on Amazon and worth the buy, it keeps my 2-year-old busy!

I love a toy that I can use in more ways than one. And this fine motor dinosaur toy is just that, take away those scales and give your little one pom poms to put in the hole. Everytime I pull this out my boys are entertained for minimum an hour, and that's definitely a win in my book.

Check back as I always add more activities and sensory play ideas, and if you like these, check out the other activities that are toddler approved down below!
