List of Ingredients
Family Pack Pork Chops (Thin Sliced) 8-9
1 cup Flour
1 1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Ground Pepper
1 tsp Soul Food Seasoning
1 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Oregano Leaves
1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
Vegetable Oil
3 cups Chicken Broth
1 Onion
3 Cloves of Garlic
Step 1: Prep Seasonings and Meat
Before setting started, preheat your oven to 400 degrees. In a small bowl, add your seasonings and give it a good mix. Now wash your pork chops and place them into a bowl. I used about 3 pinches of the seasoning mix for the pork chops. The seasoning transfer over smoothly on the meat so no need to add a lot. Then use the remaining seasoning mix to season your flour.
Step 2: Fry Your Pork Chops
In a frying pan, you're going to add enough oil to cover the pan and get that hot and ready. Because these are thin sliced pork chops, we're only going to fry them on both sides for 3 minutes. Once done, you're going to sit them to the side on a pan.
Step 3: Prepare Gravy
With the oil from the pan, you're going to take chopped onions and garlic and let them cook until transparent. Once transparent, slowly add the seasoned flour while continuously whisking. You want it to look thick. Once at this consistency, slowly add in a little of your chicken broth and mix that well before slowly adding the remaining chicken broth. This gives it a smooth consistency. When everything is evenly mixed and cook add your pork chops to the gravy.
Step 2: Bake For 30 Minutes
Place in the oven for 30 minutes, when you take them out, give one a cut to check if cooked to completion. Serve over a bed of chicken flavored rice and with cornbread...or whatever you prefer!
I love a meal that the entire family enjoys and sends them off to bed with full bellies! If you enjoyed this recipe, take a look at some of the other dinner recipes down below!
