Juneteenth Activities For Toddlers

Juneteenth is a special day when we celebrate the end of slavery in America and think about how we can make sure everyone is treated fairly and equally. It's a time to celebrate accomplishments and freedom for Black people and to remember that we still have work to do to make sure everyone has the same opportunities.

Although our 2 and 3 year old may not be able to fully understand the reason we celebrate Juneteenth, there are still ways we can include them in the celebration and create opportunities to learn.

A few books from our story time this week celebrating being Black! It's so important to teach our little ones to be proud of who they are.

What I love most about this holiday is the fact we can celebrate all of the black excellence and pay homage to the icons who made a difference. It's also a reminder that we are still fighting the fight everyday.
